The impact of MES on OEE on Smart Manufacturing in Industry 4.0

This paper examines the integration of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) on a smart Flexible Production Assembly Training System simulating a real-life production facility, aligning it with the operational framework of a fully digitalized Industry 4.0 factory. The proposed integrated platform offers a modular intelligent factory system, providing standardization in data formats, mitigating communication errors, and streamlining workflows. The shared MES framework facilitates precise tracking of materials and products, supports just-in-time manufacturing, and improves visibility. These advancements enable informed decision-making, reduce lead times, and minimize production downtimes.It significantly advances manufacturing efficiency by demonstrating the importance of real-time data access and interoperability in monitoring and optimizing overall equipment effectiveness. It highlights how an integrated system can enhance operational efficiencies, streamline processes, and reduce downtime, thereby boosting productivity.Ultimately, this research provides a framework for achieving superior manufacturing performance, offering valuable insights for both practitioners and researchers aiming to leverage technology for enhanced operational effectiveness in manufacturing environments.
