Analysis and Simulation of Thermal Characteristics of Contact System in Circuit Breaker With Oil Dashpot

The size of each part of the contact system in circuit breaker with oil dashpot is measured by three coordinate measuring instrument. The 3D model of the contact system in the circuit breaker with oil dashpot is established in Pro/E. The heat generation and heat emission analysis of contact system is carried out, then the model is imported into the ANSYS and the finite element model of the contact system is established, then the thermal electric field direct coupling analysis of contact system is carried out by using ANSYS software, the temperature distribution of each part of the contact system is obtained. Meanwhile, the influence of contact pressure and current on the temperature-rise of the contact system is also analyzed. Finally, the temperature-rise of the contact and conductive plate in the circuit breaker with oil dashpot are measured. By comparing the simulated data and the measured data, the correctness of the simulation results is verified. This provides a new reference for the research and development of circuit breaker with oil dashpot.
