Research on a Systematic Design Framework Based on Kansei Engineering: an Empirical Study of Laser Levels

This study explores the application of Kansei Engineering (KE) in human-machine collaborative product design, with a particular focus on optimizing laser level tools. By systematically selecting and quantifying product form and CMF (Color, Material, Finish) characteristics, a comprehensive product appearance design process is established. Additionally, a systematic design information management framework is proposed, integrating user groups, emotional images, and design features to provide systematic references for information acquisition and optimization in future product design processes. In a Computer-Aided Design environment, the integration of KE methods effectively facilitates collaborative design decision-making and optimization. User preference tests indicate that the laser level solutions developed in this study significantly enhance users' emotional experience and product satisfaction. These findings not only demonstrate the effectiveness of KE in human-machine collaborative product design but also offer practical guidance for future design endeavors.
