New 5G-NR-Like LDPC Code Design for HRLLC Scenarios

To meet the requirements of hyper-reliable and low-latency communication (HRLLC) scenarios, a new design of 5G-NR-Like LDPC codes is proposed, which majorly optimizes the minimum distance property, to lower the error floor for short to medium code lengths. Meanwhile, progressive row extension techniques are employed for base matrix design, and progressive edge growth and lifting techniques are employed for lifting design, to achieve desirable decoding performance across the nested code rates and code lengths under given design complexity. The hybrid list decoding algorithm is employed to further improve the decoding performance for short block lengths. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of our new 5G-NR-Like LDPC code design and hybrid list decoding algorithm.
