Calculation Method of Cumulative Horizontal Obstruction Angle for Civil Aviation Radar Equipment in GIS

Air traffic control surveillance radars can measure and display the azimuth and distance information of aircraft within the effective coverage area, and monitor the operation of aircraft in the terminal and approach control airspace. Its detection range is limited by factors such as line of sight, transmission power, and terrain and surface features. The reflection and obstruction of radio signals by terrain and surface features will directly affect the airspace coverage capability of the radar. In MH/T 4003.2 "Specification for the Site Setting of Civil Aviation Communication, Navigation and Surveillance Stations - Part 2: Surveillance", clear requirements are put forward for the shielding limitations of the site protection area of radar stations, that is, the vertical and horizontal shielding angles of a single (or dense) obstacle relative to the station are not allowed to exceed the allowable ranges simultaneously. Therefore, this paper proposes a method that facilitates the auditing party to quickly audit whether obstacles meet the shielding limitation requirements for the radar site protection area and quickly determine whether multiple obstacles satisfy the requirements of radar standards
