Development of Filter Pond Cleaning Process Using Experimental Design

The cleaning process of filter ponds is crucial for maintaining water quality and ensuring the effective operation of aquaculture systems and wastewater treatment facilities. This research outlines a systematic approach to optimizing the filter pond cleaning process using Design of Experiments methodology. Two factors including blower activation time and washing time are considered and the response is Turbidity value. To ensure that the turbidity value is less than the acceptable level, the turbidity target is set as 0.7. Based on the experiment and analysis, the blower activation time and washing time should be set as 1 and 7 minutes, respectively. The after-implementation result shows that the turbidity value are 0.531-0.671 NTU, which is less than 0.8. After calculating the savings, by setting the blower time and washing time, the electricity is reduced by 11,139.18 baht per month, which is 26.46 percent.
