Research on ATT Control Method for Salvo Firing of Electromagnetic Coilgun Based on Head-on Interception

Electromagnetic launch technology, characterized by high energy conversion efficiency and low launch costs, can be utilized by surface ships to deploy anti-torpedo torpedoes (ATT) against incoming enemy torpedoes. Based on the establishment of a multi-stage induction coilgun launch model, this study proposes a control method for electromagnetic salvo firing of ATT using a head-on interception approach. Numerical simulations were conducted by developing kinematic models of various elements. The results indicate that the electromagnetic coilgun launch method can significantly enhance the interception probability of ATT in head-on interception scenarios, thereby ensuring the safety of the ship. This approach holds positive implications for torpedo defense in surface ships.
