Solver Modeling for Vehicle Routing Problem in Furniture Delivery

The research presents a solver model for the vehicle routing problem in a furniture delivery system. Considering various types of vehicles with different capacity limitations and fuel consumption rates, the objective is to determine the appropriate number of vehicles of each type to be used, along with their routes and delivery schedules, in order to minimize the total cost composed of fuel costs, regular time working costs, and overtime working costs. According to the analysis results obtained from 30 numerical problems, in comparison with the traditional delivery planning method, the proposed solver model provides solutions that can reduce the total cost by approximately 8.59 percent.
