Practical research on the evaluation model of Professional core competence of Higher vocational medical students based on improved CART algorithm

Objective: To construct a professional core competency evaluation model for higher vocational medical students based on improved CART algorithm and explore its application value in the cultivation of higher vocational medical students. Method ： Establish a professional core competency evaluation index system for higher vocational medical students from four dimensions (Ethics and Professionalism, Steady Practice and Strategic Vision, Integrated Learning and Innovation, Technical Mastery and Intellectual Refinement), classify their competency levels into five grades, apply improved CART algorithm for eigenvalue selection to construct a graded classification assessment model. Then implement the "Three-Dimensional Integration, Medical-Engineering Fusion, Lifelong Empowerment" cultivation system based on individualized evaluation results to advance the optimization of medical vocational education pathways.Results: High consistency was confirmed between the model’s outputs and competency classification criteria outcomes, and the processing efficiency is obviously improved with improved CART algorithm. The implementation of cultivation System named"Three-Dimensional Integration, Medical-Engineering Fusion, Lifelong Empowerment " effectively elevated students' professional core competency levels with statistically validated improvements.
