Performance analysis of projectile-carried communication jamming based on shortwave sky-wave propagation mode on OPNET platform

Compared with ground wave transmission, shortwave sky-wave transmission has certain particularities and limitations. This article focused on the basic model of sky-wave signal propagation, distinguished network models, process models, and pipeline models, and established a projectile-carried communication jamming system based on shortwave sky-wave propagation mode through the OPNET platform. The simulation analysis of shortwave sky-wave communication jamming effects under 5km and 15km transmission paths was achieved, and the jamming effects of fixed frequency pulse jamming and frequency sweep jamming on shortwave frequency hopping radio stations were compared and explored. The results indicate that as the communication distance increases, the fixed frequency projectile-carried communication jammer needs to gradually reduce the pulse silence time from 1 second to 0.1 seconds in order to effectively jam shortwave radio stations; For shortwave sky-wave communication with narrowband communication and low hopping speed, fixed frequency pulse jamming can be used, and frequency sweep jamming is not applicable. The relevant conclusions can provide decision support for commanders and provide reference for further improving the combat effectiveness of communication jamming projectile.
