Implementation of Half-Bridge Gate Driver for High Efficient BLDC Six-Step Controller

In this research, we implement and analyze the performance of a half-bridge gate driver in the control of a BLDC (Brushless DC) motor using the six-step method. The main objective of this research is to improve the control efficiency of BLDC motors through optimal gate driver design. The six-step method was chosen for its simplicity and effectiveness in BLDC motor control applications. In the test, a half-bridge gate driver is designed to control a MOSFET power switch, which is important in efficient power conversion. Experimental results show that the use of half-bridge gate drivers results in an increase in power conversion efficiency of up to 15 % compared to conventional drivers. Tests were conducted at various speeds and loads to ensure consistency and reliability of the results. In addition, better thermal control is achieved, reducing overheating of the power switch and extending component life. These findings indicate that the implementation of half-bridge gate drivers is an effective solution to improve the control efficiency of BLDC motors, potentially reducing energy consumption and improving the overall performance of the system. This research makes an important contribution to developing more efficient and sustainable electric motor control technology.
