Method for Compression and Transmission of Power Grid Wide-Band Data Based on Compact Coding of Prediction Difference Values

Power system broadband measurement device can monitor broadband signals within 2500Hz, which greatly improves the sensing and monitoring ability of the dispatching master station on the grid operation status. However, the volume of broadband data is large, and the existing data transmission technology is inefficient and the data storage density is low, resulting in a large amount of data cannot be transmitted and stored in real time, which restricts the in-depth application of broadband data. This paper analyzes the characteristics of broadband measurement data and proposes an efficient and lossless data compression and transmission method, which significantly improves the transmission efficiency and historical data storage density of broadband measurement data. The data compression/decompression algorithm program is written, the laboratory simulation environment is built, and the feasibility of the method is verified by compressing, transmitting, decompressing and storing the engineering measured wideband data.
