Analysis of the Application of Distribution Automation Technology in the Improvement of Power Supply Reliability

The reliability of power supply in power systems has become an important indicator for evaluating the service capabilities and management levels of power companies. This paper takes the X City Power Supply Company as a case study and conducts a systematic analysis of the application of distribution automation technology in enhancing power supply reliability. It first introduces the current status and existing issues of the power supply network and proposes specific requirements for the distribution automation system; then it provides a detailed explanation of the key components and technical mechanisms of the distribution automation system; and based on the case project, it introduces the overall design, equipment selection, communication monitoring solutions, and the system implementation process based on the case project; finally, it comprehensively evaluates the system’s performance and application effectiveness using actual test data. This study explores the feasibility and practical effectiveness of distribution automation technology in enhancing power supply reliability, providing valuable reference materials and implementation experience for the promotion of this technology in other cities or regions.
