FCS-MPC Control of NPC Three-Level Inverter with Switching Loss Cost Function

In this paper, a finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) optimization strategy is proposed for controlling the output current and voltage of a neutral point clamped inverter for the control problem of the neutral point potential of an NPC-type three-level inverter. The optimized control strategy is based on the traditional neutral point potential balance by taking the heat loss of the switching tubes as an additional value function, and the predictive control scheme is validated by MATLAB/Simulink simulation and its feasibility is evaluated by experiments.
