A Proactive EV Charging Scheduler with Real-Time Short Circuit Detection Using IoT

Electric vehicles (EVs) are becoming increasingly popular as an eco-friendly means of transport, but issues like effective charging management and electrical safety are still of prime importance. This paper introduces a smart IoT-based system that is meant to avoid short circuits during the EV charging operation while also supporting early-time scheduling to make better use of energy and grid load. The system suggested here keeps a constant check on the charging parameters like voltage, current, and temperature through real-time sensors. On detecting abnormal readings or faults, the system automatically switches off the power supply to avoid short circuits and maintain vehicle safety. Furthermore, a scheduling algorithm is employed to calculate the most appropriate times for charging based on energy demand and availability. The system utilizes cloud connectivity to provide remote monitoring and alert notifications through an easy-to- use interface. Its two-in-one approach boosts EV charging infrastructure by enhancing safety, relieving peak load, and facilitating energy usage efficiency. Experimental results show the reliability and efficiency of the system in real-time applications.
