A Research Review Based on the Combined supply Technology of PV/T and Air Source Heat Pumps

The global energy crisis and the objective of achieving carbon neutrality have led to a significant focus on the green transformation of building energy systems as a critical pathway. In-depth research into the effective utilization of renewable energy heating technologies is imperative, particularly with regard to the limited contribution of renewable energy to heating energy consumption in cold regions. Through a systematic review of domestic and international literature, this study categorizes and analyzes PV/T technology (including water-cooled, air-cooled, and enhanced heat exchange technologies) and its multifunctional applications. It focuses on building-integrated photovoltaic/thermal (BIPV/T) systems (such as BIPV/Air and BIPV/fluid) and explores structural optimization and performance-influencing factors. A comprehensive review of extant literature pertaining to PV/T technology in conjunction with heat pump systems (especially air-source heat pumps, ASHP) is presented herein, comparing the advantages, disadvantages, and coefficient of performance (COP) of different coupling modes such as series, parallel, hybrid (dual-source), and direct expansion. This provides a new approach for efficient, stable, and low-carbon heating in urban buildings in severely cold regions.
