Trajectory Correction of Lightning Ground Flash Activity Based on Meteorological Data

As a natural disaster, lightning often causes serious losses to the power system. It is of great significance to improve the ability of lightning monitoring and early warning, and the analysis of ground flash activity trajectory is the core link. In this paper, two kinds of meteorological data are introduced to correct the cloud-to-ground lightning trajectory: the strong convective cloud cluster that may be accompanied by lightning is screened out by the cold cloud top brightness temperature of satellite data, the cooling rate of thunderstorm cloud center and the temperature gradient of cloud top boundary, and the centroid sequence of ‘ meteorological point ‘ is constructed. Through the Doppler radar data, the physical threshold is set to screen the strong convection core point, and the centroid position is weighted. In addition, three indicators of Duration, Coherence and Complexity are proposed to evaluate the correction effect. It is found that radar data has stronger physical indication and application value, while the correlation between satellite data and ground flash is weak, and the correction effect is limited.
