Iot-Based Home Air Quality Monitoring & Ventilation System

The increasing concern over indoor air pollution, which poses significant health risks, has necessitated the development of efficient monitoring and mitigation systems. This paper presents the design and implementation of a low-cost IoT-based home air quality monitoring and ventilation system. The system integrates MQ-135 and DHT11 sensors with an ESP8266 microcontroller to provide real-time pollutant detection and automated ventilation control. The methodology includes continuous monitoring, data analysis, and automated via a smartphone application using Blynk. Experimental results demonstrate successful pollutant detection, real-time alerts and effective ventilation mechanisms. The findings indicate that the system significantly improves indoor air quality, offering a scalable and user-friendly solution for residential applications.
