Fault-Tolerant Control of Industrial Pneumatic Valves using Self-Learning Observers

This paper addresses the problem of fault reconstruction and fault-tolerant control in pneumatic valve systems with actuator faults. First, the pneumatic valve’s working principle and system structure are analyzed, and its mathematical model is established. Then, a time-varying learning intensity self-learning observer is designed to simultaneously estimate the system states and fault signals. The reconstructed information is used to construct the fault-tolerant controller, which compensates for the impact of actuator faults. Through the Lyapunov theory, the stability analysis of the system is analyzed. Finally, the numerical simulation verifies the effectiveness of the proposed method in pneumatic valve control.
