Current Status and Future Directions of Crude Oil Water Content Measurement Technologies

Crude oil water content measurement is a critical aspect of oilfield production management, as its accuracy significantly impacts the cost-effectiveness of crude oil extraction. This paper systematically reviews the principles, advantages, and limitations of both traditional offline measurement methods and modern online measurement technologies. Furthermore, it explores future trends in this field, focusing on three key research directions: multi-source data fusion with intelligent algorithm optimization; IoT-enabled cloud systems for real-time monitoring; and miniaturized sensors exhibiting enhanced interference resistance.
