An Enhanced Space Vector Modulation Strategy for Reducing Output Harmonics in Quasi-Z-Source Inverters

With the growing adoption of photovoltaic power generation, the demand for high-performance inverters has become increasingly critical. Quasi-Z-source inverters, which possess inherent boost capabilities, have been extensively studied. The modulation strategy is primarily studied to achieve a reasonable distribution of the shoot-through time, aiming to reduce inductor current fluctuations and improve the output power quality. Existing modulation strategies exhibit suboptimal performance and require further optimization. This paper proposes a 12-sector 8-shoot-through modulation strategy that subdivides the sectors and alternates zero vectors, while dividing the shoot-through time into eight segments. This approach effectively reduces inductor current pulsation and total harmonic distortion. Simulations of the proposed method and the 4-ZSVPWM are compared, and the effectiveness of the strategy is verified by the simulation results.
