Multi-Delay Differential Equation Analysis of Micro-Stepping in Stepper Motor Applications

Achievement of a high-resolution positioning and reduced torque ripple in precision system widely adopted in micro-stepping control of stepper motors.In the presence of multiple interfacing time delays, the accuracy and dynamic performance of such system are significantly compromised. The current phase excitation, Pulse width modulation signal processing and torque generation lag produces delays in system. This study investigates the origin and impact of delays using multi delay differential equations framework enables more realistic modeling of motor dynamics under micro-stepping. The delay propagation across electrical and mechanical domain leads to degraded rotor angle tracking, increased harmonic content and potential step loss. The phase misalignment in realtime is predicted by the delay aware control architecture. The findings allows that underscore the importance of integrated modeling timing, signal design and feedback prediction in the design of next generation stepper motor systems for robotics, automation and precision control over instrumentation.
