An Improved Algorithm for Staggered Discrimination based on SDIF Threshold Failure

For staggered radars with threshold failure in sub cycles, the traditional Sequential Difference Histogram (SDIF) sorting algorithm is used for signal sorting. When sorting out multiple radars with fixed Pulse Repetition Interval (PRI) and performing staggered identification, it is not possible to select and identify a single staggered radar, resulting in a serious impact on the accuracy of our own radar sorting in electronic warfare. To solve the problems of traditional SDIF sorting algorithms in this scenario, an improved algorithm for staggered discrimination based on threshold failure is proposed by exploring the reasons for threshold failure. This algorithm adds threshold failure discrimination to the traditional Time Difference of Arrival (DTOA) statistics to determine whether there is a possibility of threshold failure preventing the identification of staggered radar. The simulation results show that the improved algorithm for staggered identification based on threshold failure proposed in this paper not only does not affect the usage scenarios of traditional SDIF sorting algorithms, but also can correctly select staggered radars in scenarios that meet the requirements of threshold failure staggered design.
