A Methodology for the Study of MR Display Interface-Specificity Form Sense and Light Perception Metrics for Typical Maintenance Tasks in Narrow Confined Spaces

The present study is oriented to the ergonomics aspects of Mixed Reality (MR) display interfaces for typical maintenance tasks in narrow confined spaces. It proposes a set of research methods for the evaluation metrics of specificity form sense and light perception. A $1: 1$ simulation experiment platform was constructed to systematically analyze the effects of parameters such as imaging distance, transparency, and color contrast on task performance and subjects' subjective perception. Repeated-measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) was employed to ascertain ergonomic thresholds for optimizing the MR interface design. This was achieved by integrating physiological data (eye movement, heart rate, and flash fusion frequency) with subjective scales. The findings of this study have the potential to offer direct theoretical underpinnings for the interface design of MR devices in narrow confined spaces with limited spatial dimensions.
