A web application as a pedagogical accessibility tool to assist sighted teachers in learning the Braille system

In recent years, there has been a rapid proliferation of digital solutions for education. However, there is still a lack of development of accessible instructional programs. In response to this challenge, a Web tool was developed to provide formative support to sighted people, facilitating the learning of the Braille system through an approach called "Braille Pattern." The research subjects were sighted teachers (n = 16), and online questionnaires were used as the data collection instrument. With a quantitative approach, the research was based on statistical tests with a significance level of 5%, as well as on the Hake’s Gain methodology, employed to verify the percentage of learning gain among research participants. The results indicate that the proposed solution can assist sighted teachers in learning the Braille system.
