Smart Wheelchair with Hand Gesture Control and Real-Time Health Monitoring Using IoT

This Paper presents a smart, wireless gesturecontrolled wheelchair designed for physically challenged and elderly individuals. The system uses a MEMS (Accelerometer) sensor mounted on the hand or glove of the user to detect hand gestures and accordingly control the direction of the wheelchair via DC motors. In addition to movement, the system features real-time health monitoring, including body temperature, humidity, and pulse rate using sensors like DHT11 and Pulse Sensor. The collected data is sends to the ThingSpeak IoT platform via a Wi-Fi module for continuous monitoring by caregivers or doctors. This multi-functional system ensures mobility along with health safety and remote supervision, enhancing the independence and security of the user.
