Modeling of TL431 in SIMPLIS

TL431 is an adjustable precision shunt regulator that is widely used in switch-mode power supplies, battery management systems, and various power-conditioning circuits. Since SIMPLIS does not include a built-in standard model for TL431, we explore methods for constructing TL431 within the SIMPLIS environment. Specifically, we compare three implementations: SPICE conversion, behavioral modeling, and the use of SIMPLIS's built-in control elements. Based on an indepth analysis of the operational principles of TL431, we propose an innovative hybrid model that can enhance the accuracy and stability of SIMPLIS simulation results. Furthermore, we evaluate the applicability of the three aforementioned approaches in switching power circuits, aiming to provide more precise modeling strategies and design references.
