Determining Job Profile Indicators and Work Capabilities of Students with Learning Disabilities in Food Service Industry: A Scoping Review

Employment opportunities for those with diverse learning or physical needs remain a key area of inquiry, particularly in aligning job roles with personal strengths and potential challenges. This review examines occupations that suit the abilities and specific requirements of learners with special needs, taking into account how the nature of their conditions affects workplace performance. The study was conducted using the PRISMA-ScR protocol to ensure methodological soundness. Relevant literature was sourced from two prominent academic databases, Scopus and Web of Science (WoS). Key data extracted included types of occupations, workplace sustainability, work capability, and classifications of learner needs. An initial total of 25 documents was retrieved from each database. By identifying appropriate employment roles and examining opportunities across various industries, this review offers practical insights for vocational trainers and employers committed to cultivating inclusive and adaptable work environments. The findings underscore the importance of tailored training pathways, job accommodations, and supportive practices that align with the unique profiles of these learners. The study underscores the need for structured interventions and policy enhancements to ensure sustainable employment opportunities for learners with disabilities, contributing to their long-term career success and social integration.
