Radiative Capture Cross-Section for ${ }^{89} \mathrm{Y}$ at Neutron Energy of $14.96 \pm 0.15 \text{MeV}$

Yttrium (Y) being one of the most crucial rare-earth elements has a magic nucleus with $\mathbf{N} \boldsymbol{=} \mathbf{5 0}$. The increased stability of the ${ }^{89} \mathrm{Y}$ could show peculiar behaviour in comparison to its neighbouring nuclei. A thorough study was carried out to determine the cross-section of ${ }^{89} \mathrm{Y}$ through neutron activation analysis using mono-energetic neutrons with an energy of 14.96 $\pm 0.15 \text{MeV}$. The sample of $\mathrm{Y}_{2} \mathrm{O}_{3}$ and monitor Aluminium (Al) were irradiated at IPR, Gujarat, India. The induced radioactivity was measured by offline $\gamma$-ray spectroscopy in a pre-calibrated High purity germanium (HPGe) detector. The measured cross-section is compared with previous experimental studies (EXFOR) and Evaluated library ENDF. At last, the theoretical code TALYS-2.0 is simulated to predict the reaction cross-section values for ${ }^{89} \mathbf{Y}(n, \gamma){ }^{90} \mathbf{Y}^{\mathbf{m}}$ and understand the influence of shell closures in ${ }^{\mathbf{8 9}} \mathbf{Y}$.
