Dispersion Diversity Unleashed: Signal processing enabled by multicore and few-mode fibers

In this invited paper, we delve into our more salient experimental findings on signal processing using different dispersion-diversity multicore fibers and few-mode fibers. We explore how spatial parallelism and chromatic-dispersion diversity enable a variety of reconfigurable processing applications for both optical and microwave signals, focusing on tunable true-time delay line operations that enhance compactness and versatility.
