An Explainable Orchestration Approach to Multi-Domain Network Management

Ensuring end-to-end (e2e) connectivity across today’s complex networking environments requires solutions that are not only efficient, but also transparent, reliable, and trusted by users. Software Defined Networking (SDN) has brought significant advances in how networks are managed, offering flexibility through centralized control and programmability. Yet, the integration of Explainable AI (XAI) into SDN, particularly for e2e connectivity provisioning, remains an emerging area with substantial potential. This paper presents an architectural framework for embedding XAI within SDN control mechanisms, with a focus on intra-domain and inter-domain delay modeling. The aim is to improve transparency, increase reliability, and strengthen user trust in dynamic network operations.
