Auditing in the Age of Digital Transformation: A Fraud Hexagon Model Approach to Identifying and Preventing Fraud

The aim of this study is to explore the impact of digital transformation on the field of auditing and propose a fraud hexagon model as a comprehensive approach to identifying and preventing fraud in the digital age. The fraud hexagon model provides a framework for auditors to assess the various factors that contribute to fraud, including financial stability, external pressures, ineffective monitoring mechanisms, auditor changes, changes in management, arrogance, and collusion. By integrating technology and leveraging digital tools, auditors can enhance their fraud risk assessment process and effectively detect fraudulent activities within organizations. This research methods include a review of existing literature on auditing, fraud detection, and digital transformation in the business environment. The literature search included academic journals from Scopus database. The result show that digital transformation has significantly impacted the auditing profession, presenting new challenges and opportunities for auditors.
