The Internet of Things: A Strategic Asset for Proactive Supply Chain Risk Management and Resilience – Case of Moroccan Automotive Industry

Effective Supply Chain Management has become a strategic imperative for companies in a globalized and dynamic economic context. At the heart of this management lies the necessity to understand and control the risks that punctuate the journey of goods and services flows throughout the supply chain. This complex task requires a thorough analysis of the various sources of risks, their potential impacts on operations, and how to effectively mitigate or adapt to them. The integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in supply risk management, particularly in the automotive sector, constitutes a revolution in traditional supply chain management. In this sense, how does the use of Internet of Things constitute a strategic lever in the proactive Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) and resilience? On a cross-literature review in technology and supply chain, as well as on a qualitative empirical study based on interviews processed by NVIVO and conducted with 14 companies in the automotive sector in Morocco, this article presents and discusses a set of propositions that respond to our research question.
