Disruptions to Moroccan Supply Chains During the Covid-19 Pandemic: A Geographical and Sectoral Analysis

The pandemic outbreak has disrupted supply chain operations. That said, we want to know how the geographical area, particularly the origin of the goods, affects the disruption of this supply chain. We created an electronic questionnaire for Moroccan companies, and we obtained 196 responses from the Web Survey Google Forms platform. The results revealed a statistically significant link between the area of origin and supply chain disruption. This means that the level of interference from certain factors and elements from certain geographical areas has a direct effect on how well the whole supply chain process works. The use of the Kruskal-Walis non-parametric test allowed for the visualization of a statistically significant distinction between certain components of the supply chain and the geographical origin, namely supply (p < 0.05), production (p < 0.05), and transport (p < 0.05). Indeed, the strong attachment of these components to the goods explains why the geographical origin influences the functioning of its components.
