Design of Routine Test Device for High-Voltage Cable Accessories Testing

A natural stage of electrical equipment production is product quality control, which for high-voltage cable accessories consists of routine tests. Standards IEC 60840:2020 and IEC 62067:2022 establish test voltage values for acceptance tests of stress cones. However, due to the difference in the geometric dimensions of cables with different crosssections, the electric stress in the cable insulation is distributed differently, which leads to a significant difference in the stress levels in the insulation of the stress cones, that is, to a difference in the actual load. In order for all stress cones to pass routine tests under equal load, the designs of specialized devices for each size group of stress cones were calculated. This article is devoted to the calculation of the test device's design, its manufacture and testing of cable accessories using this device.
