Remote Voltage Monitoring for Smart Grid

The paper is devoted to smart grid technology which provides significantly better resource management than regular electrical grid provides. Main features of smart grid were described and benefits of smart grid were mentioned. The authors developed a test bench which can be a part of some smart grid. The test bench consists of voltage meter and low power server. Combining those two units can obtain, transfer, storage and display of voltage values measured by voltage meter. Such test bench can emulate electrical grid on/off states and to control voltage level of accumulator. The authors perform the experiment which has several charge-discharge cycles and make a conclusion that such simple test bench can be used to obtain remote voltage values. For practical usage devices based on the test bench can be a part of a smart grid.
