Evaluation of Current Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage Technologies Under the Climate Change Circumstance

Frequent occurrence of natural calamities and climate anomalies is closely related to the surge of anthropogenic carbon emissions. This paper provides a comprehensive comparison of current carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technologies in terms of cost, efficiency, safety, and technology maturity using the criteria of cost performance, efficiency, safety, and technology readiness level (TRL). Preliminary findings show that post-combustion capture, membrane separation, pipeline transport, and enhanced oil recovery are the most promising options in their categories. This dissertation can provide a value guide for practical application, offering insights for professionals in environmental and climate-related fields.
