A Detailed Exploration of Passwordless Authentication

In today’s digital landscape, password-based authentication is ubiquitous for protecting critical information and resources. However, traditional systems increasingly fail to guarantee protection against security breaches, fraud, and unauthorized use of passwords. These weaknesses have inspired industry players and academia to conduct studies of alternative modes of authentication that can reduce risks including password hacking, intrusions, and cracking. This paper presents an original system, free from passwords, designed to reduce inherent vulnerabilities associated with conventional methods. The objectives of this research include a detailed analysis of the latest technologies for password-less authentication and offering necessary insights into their ability to enhance security measures. This paper proposes a new approach for password-less authentication, known as BehaviorID, developed as part of this system. Unlike traditional biometric or token-based approaches, BehaviorID continuously learns about the user’s behavioral patterns and offers seamless and secure authentication on multiple platforms. The results show that the proposed hybrid system has the potential to significantly enhance security protocols in industries, indicating it is a more effective approach to passwordless authentication techniques with possible implications across numerous sectors for sophisticated and secure measures.
