Robust Control of Dynamic Wireless Power Transfer for EVs using Super-Twisting Sliding Mode Control

This paper explains about how electric vehicles gain a huge acceptance in recent years, demand for fast and reliable charging systems is raising high. Dynamic Wireless Power Transfer (DWPT), which seems to be a ready solution, allows the charging of EVs while they are in motion, eliminating the need for stationary charging infrastructure. In this paper, a method of enhancing the performance of a dynamic wireless charging system based on Super-Twisting Sliding Mode Control method is presented. The proposed STSMC controller guarantees good reliable stable power transfer under consideration of system uncertainties and disturbances, thus enhancing charging efficiency and preserving voltage stability. The control technique ensures that power fluctuates downwards, thus maintaining constant energy delivery to the moving EV while improving dynamic response. A consideration by simulation of the design and implementation of DWPT system is given, taking into account some major disturbances, such as misalignment, load variation, and fluctuations in the coupling coefficient. The advantages of STSMC demonstrate resilience against disturbances, steady-state error reduction, and enhanced power transfer efficiency when compared with classical controllers. The outcomes confirm the suggested control scheme's efficacy, establishing it as a workable option for real-time EV charging applications. By maximizing the use of wireless charging technology into upcoming EV infrastructures, our initiative advances sustainable mobility.
