Industrial IoT Management Assets with Redfish: An Open Process Automation Approach

The Open Process Automation Standard (O-PAS) is a transformative initiative aimed at overcoming key challenges in Industrial IoT (IIoT), such as interoperability, security, and scalability. DMTF’s Redfish standard is adopted for system management, enabling unified administration of hardware and software components across their lifecycle. This paper details the development of a Redfish server on a Raspberry Pi, aligned with O-PAS requirements. The study evaluates the completeness of O-PAS documentation for developers and assesses critical quality attributes—interoperability, availability, and discoverability—from an operational technology perspective. The findings shed light on the maturity of the O-PAS ecosystem and its potential to enhance industrial automation through IIoT technologies.
