Voter Authentication Using Elliptic Curve Cryptography and Blind Signature in a Secure Electronic Voting System

A signer signs a digital message without knowing the internal content of the message being signed in a blind signature system. Hence, this signature system provides the legitimacy of the message without allowing the signer to see the actual content. In order to ensure privacy of a voter while ensuring the eligibility of the voter, this system can be used very effectively. This paper proposes a new electronic voting (e-voting) system where the authentication of the voter is proposed using the blind signature technology. The Elliptic Curve Cryptography is used for the implementation of the blind signature. The voting system verifies the eligibility of the voters without revealing any identity of a particular voter. Thus, the voting system satisfies voters’ privacy requirements as well as ensures the eligibility of the voters. .
