A Transformation Method from IAML to SLIM Models for MBSA

Model-based safety analysis methods can meet the challenges and problems raised by complex systems in the current civil aircraft avionics field, but there is still no modeling language that can support the entire development life cycle of the entire avionics system. The IAML language is an informal modeling language for system architecture design used in the current civil aircraft field of the aviation industry, and the SLIM language is a formal modeling language for system safety analysis. This paper proposes an automatic transformation method from the IAML model to the SLIM model based on ATL (ATLAS Transformation Language). Firstly, the IAML metamodel is constructed according to the avionics system architecture design work guide, and the SLIM metamodel is constructed according to the BNF paradigm of the SLIM language. Secondly, the IAML architecture model is constructed and preprocessed into an XML file that conforms to the metamodel. Next, the transformation rules from the IAML model to the SLIM model are defined and the transformation algorithm is designed. After calling the ATL engine for conversion, the SLIM model file is further processed by the algorithm. Finally, the battery sensor system of the avionics system is analyzed to verify the effectiveness of the transformation method.
