Energy Analysis of Short Circuit Discharge for Composite Intrinsically Safe Circuits

The majority of intrinsically safe circuits are certified using lEC spark test equipment, but they face challenges such as poor adaptability, low repeatability of experimental results, and high experimental requirements. This paper presents a designed short circuit experiment for composite intrinsically safe circuits. Taking into account the impact of charging resistance on the composite circuit, a mathematical model is established to analyze discharging current, discharging power, and discharging energy under non-oscillating conditions. Additionally, Matlab simulations are conducted to explore the relationship between charging resistance, load resistance, and short-circuit transient energy. Experimental findings demonstrate that smaller charging resistances and larger load resistances result in higher short circuit transient energies.
