Intelligent lighting system control scheme assessment using analytic hierarchy process (AHP): A case study of crew restaurant on the ship

With the intelligent evolution of ship systems, the intelligent lighting system on board is gradually drawing attention from the industry. In contrast to traditional lighting approaches, the intelligent lighting system can prolong the lifespan of lighting fixtures and significantly reduce power consumption. This paper intends to employ the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to assess the design requirements of an intelligent lighting system for a chemical tanker, with the crew restaurant taken as the object, and select the optimal control scheme. The simulation model is constructed using DIALux evo, and the simulation of the control scheme is conducted for spatial illuminance and colour temperature. The lighting energy consumption is calculated. The simulation outcomes demonstrate that the control scheme can effectively achieve the functions of intelligent dimming and temperature adjustment. The energy consumption analysis results confirm that it can considerably reduce the lighting energy consumption compared to traditional lighting methods.
