Overview of NURBS curve technology

Hull curve and surface technology is an important part of today’s ship manufacturing design, and how to express hull surface modeling quickly and accurately has become the research goal of today’s designers. NURBS algorithm is regarded as the best algorithm in curve and surface modeling technology because it inherits the advantages of Bessel curve and B-spline curve. In this paper, the definition and properties of NURBS curve are summarized, and its inverse algorithm can be applied to ship hull design in ship engineering.
