Parameterized Programming and Simulation Processing of Cam Curve in Ship Valve System

This paper proposes a parameterized programming method for the cam curve programming problem caused by the offset characteristics of the cam mechanism follower in the ship’s valve system. This method is based on the motion law of the driven component and uses analytical methods to obtain the theoretical contour curve equation of the cam. Then, the error compensation values for each processing stage were reasonably set, which were based on the equidistant curve relationship between the actual profile and the theoretical profile of the cam. Finally, by using parameterized programming methods, the CNC machining macro program corresponding to the actual contour curve of the cam can be obtained, which is based on the principle of assigning values to the main local variables according to the characteristics of the cam. The results of simulation verification show that the parametric programming method can solve the programming difficulties caused by the offset characteristics of the cam mechanism follower, and can quickly obtain macro programs of cam curves with similar motion laws but different angles and sizes by reassigning the main local variables. The efficient and practical parametric programming method presented in this paper can provide a reference for CNC programming of more complex cam parts.
