Ai in Architecture: Validating Autodesk Forma for Climate-Responsive Building Design

AI is changing the way architects approach to sustainable design, making it easier to create buildings that work with their environment instead of against it. This research looks at how Autodesk Forma, an AI-powered tool, can help to design climate-responsive and energy-efficient spaces. To put it to the test, we focused on a 12 -story hostel at Lovely Professional University in Punjab, a region with a warm, subtropical climate. Forma helps analyze important factors like sunlight exposure, wind flow, temperature, noise levels, solar energy potential, and even the carbon footprint of materials. With these insights, architects can make better decisions by bringing in more natural light, improving airflow, keeping indoor temperatures comfortable, and reducing energy use. Since Forma allows designers to test different environmental conditions before construction even begins, it makes sustainable design both practical and achievable.
