Panoramic bifocal acquisition and processing system for the PNRR Infrastructure (NRRP) Earth-Moon-Mars (EMM) project

The paper present a panoramic camera acquisition and processing system intended for a for a multipurpose infrastructure supporting future lunar and martian exploration. The Moon may be used as a privileged platform to observe the Earth and the Universe and, at the same time, a Moon infrastructure can support activities that will also prepare the human exploration of Mars. PANCAM camera will provide an extremely field of view as well as an advanced software platform to reconstruct scenario. Special effort was devoted to ensure precise frame calibration to support future metrology application such as lunar dust monitoring and star tracker.
