Statistical Analysis of a Different Resolution Sea-Clutter Database

This study investigates the statistical characteristics of an experimental Ku-band sea clutter dataset acquired using a radar with adjustable range resolution. The different range resolution data are obtained by reducing the sampling time of the original intermediate frequency (IF) signal. Based on this method, the observed environmental parameters of sea clutter remain consistent across different range resolutions, facilitating a reliable comparison of how range resolution impacts the statistical properties of sea clutter. Based on the measured database, the multidimensional statistical characteristics of sea clutter at varying range resolutions are analyzed, including amplitude distribution, phase difference distribution and Doppler spectrum.
