Photovoltaic Powered Autonomous Wireless Power Transfer charging for Marine Electric Vehicle

The proposed system discloses a revolutionary autonomous Photovoltaic (PV) mechanism for Wireless Power Transfer (WPT), which is carefully designed for capable and supportable charging of Marine Electric Vehicles (MEVs). At the forefront of this system is the PV module, which captures solar energy. This energy is then seamlessly transferred to the marine electric vehicle (MEV) using Resonant Inductive Power Transfer (R-IPT). This method enables continuous, effortless, and contactless power transfer, even without the need for physical connections. Key features include an automated process, completed by the sensor and operator, that ensures precise alignment between the device and the WPT receiver. The autonomous control system strengthens the energy distribution and optimizes the energy flow of PV modules and MEV batteries. Safety and operational reliability are ensured by minute-byminute environmental monitoring, adaptive power control and safety protocols, ensuring functional operation in the marine environment. The autonomous nature of the system allows for human intervention and provides a simple solution for charging MEVs. The remote monitoring and control function further increase operational efficiency and provides real-time information on the charging process. The WPT autonomous PV system represents a significant advance in marine electromobility, ensuring lower carbon emissions, efficient energy supply and a higher level of comfort. This paper presents a 3.3 kW PV powered autonomous WPT system for MEVs, detailing its design, components, and dynamic operation. Experimental results and performance evaluations are included, demonstrating the system’s feasibility and progress in utilizing renewable energy for autonomous charging in the maritime sector.
